Cascades Install at the Coal Loader
On Saturday, 11 May 2024 the winners will be announced for the North Sydney Art Prize. Please join me in celebrating all the artist who were selected for this year’s exhibition.
The Cascades are a suspended ceramic installation of water droplets captivates the viewer entering the tunnel. Each droplet delicate, meticulously crafted, highlights the fragility of our ecosystems and symbolises the delicate balance of Earth’s water resources. It prompts reflection on responsible water usage, echoing the exhibition’s theme of environmental consciousness and stewardship.

My latest body of work Australian Rock Pools continues to reflect my connection with bodies of water. Since moving to Australia I have spent much time exploring the Australian coast with family and friends. The rock pool and bowls represent beaches where we enjoy spending time – Balmoral Beach, Cape Naturaliste, Depot Beach, Long Island. The Eddies from my previous body of work are now small glazed water Droplets nestled in the bowls or sitting atop the rock pools.
